I conceive painting as a sphere, which embodies the emotional life of an artist.
Color and shape are entwined, creating the foundation of my work. Painting is my attempt to experience the maximum intensity of existence. It is radically existential.
An artist’s work visually represents the evolution of their emotional and mental life. The impulse to create a new piece is an indefinite, but powerfully emotional splash of life. During the process, I am trying to find the most expressive form and most intense expression of color and shape. My paintings create a dialogue that communicates emotion to the world. I lose sense of time, loneliness, and separation when I am working. I become united with my work. I am mentally secluded when I am making artistic decisions.
Time takes a minor role in the creation of my work. There isn’t a dominant role of conciseness. Losing control creates a reflection of an artist’s identity within a piece of art. The creation of art is an ongoing disappearance and rebirth of individuality and self-contemplation.
